Hello and welcome to Steve's Rock Shop and Miscellany! When I was a kid, my uncle had a rock shop on the Oregon coast a little
bit north of Newport and it served as the introduction to a lifelong interest in rockhounding. That was over 40 years ago.
Today, the thrill of getting out on the road looking for treasure has not diminished. This site is being designed
as an ezine and is very much a work-in-progress. Check out the agate, jasper, fossils, minerals, etc. for sale.
There is also a resource page so you can put together a rockhounding kit or add to the one you already have. In it you'll find
guide books, maps, gps units, metal detectors, and the like. Please note that there are links to sites that are not
part of this one and so I'm not responsible for them. All the photos here (good and bad) were taken by me. Go
to the photos page and check out the slide show from my trip to Wyoming and Utah in September, 2007. I have an archive
of 1000s of photos, but most were taken before my camera technology went digital and they're not easily tranferred to the
computer. There's a contact page with my email address, so don't be shy if you have something to say. There's a blog that
will be used to chronicle my observations about the hobby and may sometimes have political and social commentary.
The site will continually evolve and your comments and suggestions are welcome. If you have a collecting story, info on
a collecting site, and/or a rock sample that you'd like to share, do so. I am based in Oregon but have been fortunate
enough to be able to travel to many western states for both collecting purposes and sight-seeing. Enjoy your visit to this site
and please add it to your list of favorites! Steve.
Returns
There is a 100%, 30 day money back guarantee from me on items from the rock product pages. The descriptions
are accurate to the best of my knowledge. If you have better info
on an item, please let me know.
Shipping
Your
item(s) usually will be shipped out by either USPS or UPS within three business days. I will gladly combine orders
to save on shipping costs. If the item(s) can fit in a USPS flat rate box, that will be the preferred method of delivery
and usually the least expensive. Rocks, however, are in all shapes, sizes, and weights and those that won't fit in a flat
rate box will have a shipping cost of about $1.50 - 1.75 per pound. It's best if you contact me before your purchase if you
have questions about shipping or any other detail in general. I prefer to ship to the USA only but if you are outside the USA
and wish to make a purchase, please send me an email first as rates and regulations vary wildly from country to
country.
